Flop analysis

Flop is three cards, which are opened on board and also the following trading round.

Flop is the key moment when playing a hand in Texas Holdem. Each player must evaluate flop according to its so-called “structure”, what means the characteristics of the flop and probability of its helping for each player at the board.

It’s a good strategy to consider a flop in terms of these three questions:

  1. Did the flop help me?
  2. Do the others think the flop helped me, being aware of my style and knowledge?
  3. Taking in account that I have some information about others, is there any probability that the flop helped someone?

For example, your thoughts could be as follows:

I have A?K? and the flop 9? 6? 4? didn’t help me. As far as I’m considered as conservative player other players will think that the flop didn’t help me (because I play the big cards mostly). Well, my bluffing chances are about zero.

Player A played conservative as well, so it seems that flop didn’t helped him too.

Flop could help players B & C, because they usually play wide and different types of hands.

Well, finally I’ll be beaten if nothing extraordinary happens.
